Two struggling teams meet in Philadelphia with the division crown still within their grasp.

The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles are set to collide on Monday night in Philadelphia, with both franchises entering the contest holding identical 2-4 records. Despite their recent struggles, a path to the NFC East title remains open for both squads due to the current state of the division standings.
The New York Giants currently hold the top spot in the division with a record of 3-2-1, while Dallas and Philadelphia trail closely behind. The competitive balance of the conference has been historically unusual over the last two weeks; every team in the division played twice during that window, and not a single team secured a victory. This outcome marks the first time a division has failed to produce a winner in consecutive weeks since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.
Philadelphia arrives at this matchup on a four-game losing streak, their longest run without a win since 2020, the season prior to Nick Sirianni taking the head coaching position. The offense has managed only 58 points across those four defeats. The team is currently without quarterback Jalen Hurts, who was placed on injured reserve due to blood clots and is expected to remain sidelined for the rest of the season.
Stepping into the starting role is Tanner McKee. He previously made two starts after the Eagles had already secured a playoff spot, but his recent game against Carolina marked the first meaningful start of his career. McKee had only two days of practice with the first team before that loss. He is scheduled to meet more often with the coaching staff rather than preparing alone, stating, "I feel like I have a good preparation process." He will have more than a full week to work with first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion before facing Dallas.
The Eagles' rushing attack faces significant challenges. Saquon Barkley has been sidelined by a hamstring injury, and his availability for Monday remains uncertain. The backups, Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby, are also dealing with injuries. Carson Steele, who was signed from the practice squad recently, hurt his shoulder during the Carolina game. Dameon Pierce was the sole Eagles running back to carry the ball last week, recording 35 yards on the ground.
Dallas enters the week with defensive issues, ranking 30th in the league under first-year coordinator Christian Parker. On the offensive side, the team managed only 29 points across their last two losses, including a 23-13 defeat to Green Bay last week. The offense has failed to score 20 points in consecutive starts with Dak Prescott for the first time since 2019.
During the NFL's annual fall meeting on Wednesday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated he does not anticipate making additional coaching changes for the remainder of the season. He characterized the recent hiring of longtime defensive assistant Mike Pettine as a strategic move.
Several milestones are approaching as the game nears. Javonte Williams is the second Cowboys player to record seven rushing touchdowns through the first six games of a season. CeeDee Lamb has 48 receptions, ranking third in the NFL and setting a franchise record for the first six games, while also nearing 8,000 career receiving yards. For Philadelphia, tight end Dallas Goedert requires one catch to move into third place on the franchise's career receptions list.
The Cowboys are favored by 4 points. Dallas holds a 72-58 advantage in the all-time series and won the previous meeting 24-21 on November 23, 2025. The game is scheduled to kick off at 7:15 p.m. CST on ESPN. Following this contest, the Eagles play at Washington on November 1 before hosting the Giants to conclude a divisional stretch that will determine if their season can be saved.
