A cold front is set to cross Colorado early Saturday, bringing a temperature drop of 10 to 15 degrees and strong winds to southern Colorado. Forecasters expect this weather shift to push temperatures below average and deliver a new push of moisture to the region.

The weather pattern will bring total rainfall accumulations ranging from 0.10 to 0.75 inches across the area. Winds are expected to strengthen starting Friday and continue through the weekend, with gusts reaching 40 to 45 mph. This increase in wind speed will coincide with the arrival of tropical moisture shifting eastward.

Conditions in the San Juan Mountains and the southwestern corner of the state are already hazardous. Heavy rainfall has persisted in these areas, creating risks for flooding and mudslides. Flood watches, severe thunderstorm watches, and specific flood warnings remain in effect across that portion of the state.

In Colorado Springs, Friday is forecast to be warmer than average, with a low of 51 degrees and a high of 73 degrees. Early morning showers are possible, followed by a drier afternoon with some sunshine. Pueblo is expected to see a low of 55 and a high of 81, with on and off showers throughout the day and evening.

Other locations will experience varying conditions as the front approaches. Canon City is forecast to reach 75 degrees after a low of 54, with a brief pause in moisture by Friday afternoon. Woodland Park will remain above seasonal averages with a low of 43 and a high of 56, while the eastern plains will see a low of 60 and a high of 83.

The weekend is expected to turn cooler, bringing cold rain and possibly some snow to higher elevations. Snow levels in the mountains will likely drop once the cold front passes. The extended outlook indicates that next week will dry out, with temperatures returning to more seasonal levels.
