Elias Lindholm scored in overtime to secure a 5-4 victory for the Boston Bruins over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday. The result extended Boston's home winning streak to five games. The Bruins overcame a two-goal deficit established late in the third period to take the win.

David Pastrnak recorded a breakaway goal in the first period to reach 428 career goals. This milestone moved him past Patrice Bergeron for sole possession of third place on the Bruins' all-time goal scoring list. Casey Mittelstadt and Mason Lohrei also found the back of the net for Boston.

The Blackhawks opened the scoring quickly. Anton Frondell redirected a wrist shot from Tyler Bertuzzi past goaltender Michael DiPietro just 11 seconds into the game. Frondell added another goal in the second period, marking his second career two-goal game. Chicago's power play remained inefficient, converting only four of 40 attempts this season.

DiPietro preserved the game for Boston despite being outshot 28-13 in the first two periods. He stopped a shot from Connor Bedard in the first period and made a point-blank save against Patrick Kane in the second. Morgan Geekie scored his first goal in nine games with 12 seconds remaining in regulation to force extra time.

Ryan Greene and Connor Bedard scored for Chicago in the third period to put the visitors ahead 4-2. Mason Lohrei pulled Boston within one goal before Geekie's late strike tied the score. The game concluded with Lindholm's decisive goal in the extra frame.

Both teams return to action on Monday. The Blackhawks will host the Colorado Avalanche, while the Bruins will receive the Vegas Golden Knights.
