Maggiano's Little Italy at 500 16th Street will reopen within the next week, according to a company spokesperson. The chain's general manager, Jon Nirenberg, clarified that the temporary shutdown is for facility upgrades. This announcement follows social media speculation triggered by a sign on the restaurant's door.

A sign reading, “Unfortunately, Maggiano’s will be closed until further notice,” appeared on the door of the 16th Street location. The message circulated quickly online, causing concern among regulars about the future of the downtown venue. Nirenberg told The Post on Wednesday morning that the closure is not permanent.

The 16th Street restaurant opened in 1998 alongside the Denver Pavilions. The Maggiano's brand has a longer history, having first opened in Chicago in November 1991 at the corner of Clark Street and Grand Avenue. The chain was acquired by Brinker International in 1995, a move that facilitated its expansion to multiple states.

Diners in Colorado currently have two options for the Italian-American chain. The 16th Street location is the primary downtown spot, while a second restaurant operates in the Denver Tech Center. The Denver Tech Center venue remains open during this temporary closure at the 16th Street site.

A Maggiano's spokesperson provided the specific timeline for the return to service on Wednesday afternoon. The team expects to finish the upgrades and welcome guests back within seven days. The restaurant will resume normal operations at the 16th Street address once the work is complete.
