Union Station Kansas City is rearranging Grand Hall for the upcoming holiday season. The venue's 30-foot tree, which traditionally stands on the east side, will move to the west side this year. Ashlynn Smith, the marketing and events coordinator, stated that the relocation creates space for new shopping markets on the west side of the hall.

Grand Hall remains free to the public. Smith explained that the layout flip allows visitors to access the new commercial areas while viewing the tree from a different vantage point.

Holiday Reflections, which opens on November 20, introduces several new physical features. Tickets for the event are currently on sale. The attraction is expanding Petticoat Lane, a historical walking area in its third year of operation. Smith said the expansion includes a super-sized streetcar.

The venue is also installing new light ribbon fixtures throughout the space. Smith described the addition as a way to change the scenery for returning visitors. The lighting update aims to provide a fresh visual experience for the 2026 season.

A major addition is a new children's space that adds 3,000 square feet to the total attraction area. Smith called the new zone a frozen wonderland. This expansion increases the square footage dedicated to younger visitors.

The venue is also adding a gazebo for live entertainment. Performers will play in the structure throughout the event's run. Smith noted the gazebo as a new fun element for the holiday season.
