Barcelona players have scored eleven goals in two matches this season. The club leads the 2026-27 UEFA Women's Champions League standings with a perfect record of 11 points. Matchday 3 begins on Wednesday, October 28, marking the midpoint of the league phase.
The team faces HB Koge on Thursday, October 29, at 4 p.m. Eastern. Barcelona secured a 5-2 victory over Paris FC in their opening match. They followed that result with a 6-0 win against Roma. The club entered the current season with multiple honors from the Ballon d'Or ceremony held in London.
The ceremony recognized several Barcelona figures. Manager Pere Romeu received the women's coach of the year award. Vicky Lopez was named best young talent, and Cata Coll was selected as the best goalkeeper. The club itself was designated the best club of the year. Alexia Putellas, who now plays for London City Lionesses, won the women's Ballon d'Or. Voting for the award covered the period from August 2025 to July 2026, focusing on her final season with Barcelona.
CBS Sports writer Sandra Herrera noted that the team is cruising in the competition. She attributed their success to an attack featuring Lopez, Claudia Pina, Kerolin, and Ewa Pajor. The league phase will conclude before the knockout playoffs begin in February. Four rounds of play remain for the 16 participating clubs.
The standings remain unsettled beyond the leader. Several clubs hold split results, while others fight to keep their campaigns alive. Wednesday's schedule includes Chelsea versus Roma and Bayern Munich against Real Madrid at 1:45 p.m. Eastern. Servette hosts OH Leuven in the same time slot. Later that day, Arsenal plays Benfica and OL Lyonnes meets Inter at 4 p.m. Eastern.
Thursday's slate includes Austria Wien versus Juventus and Paris FC against Hacken at 1:45 p.m. Eastern. Manchester City faces Paris Saint-Germain in the 4 p.m. Eastern slot. The league phase midpoint offers teams a chance to create separation at the top or scramble for position at the bottom. No other team has achieved maximum points in the first two rounds.
Other European matches are scheduled for the same week. Serie A features AC Milan against Bologna and Venezia against Inter on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Eastern. An EFL Cup match between Manchester City and Brighton is set for 3:30 p.m. Eastern that day. The Women's Champions League will continue with its remaining fixtures following the Thursday matches.
