The Milwaukee Brewers hold a three-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays and need one more victory to win their first World Series title in franchise history. After a 10-1 victory in Game 3 on Monday night, the Brewers can clinch the championship as early as Tuesday night. The Rays must win four consecutive games to force a Game 7, a scenario that has not occurred in this series so far.
Robert Gasser started Game 3 and delivered a dominant performance that anchored the offensive effort. The Brewers outscored the Rays by a combined margin of 18 runs across the first three games. Milwaukee won Game 1, 3-2, and Game 2, 5-4, before the blowout victory on Monday. The series score stands at 3-0 in favor of Milwaukee.
The Rays earned their spot in the World Series by defeating the Cleveland Guardians in Game 6 of the ALCS. Junior Caminero hit a home run during that decisive game to secure the American League pennant for Tampa Bay. This is the Rays' first World Series appearance since 2020 and only their third in franchise history. They previously lost to the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2008 championship series.
The Brewers advanced by sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS. Milwaukee won all four games to claim the National League pennant and return to the World Series for the first time since 1982. Neither the Brewers nor the Rays have ever won a World Series title, ensuring that a first-time champion will emerge from this matchup regardless of the final score.
Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, at 8 p.m. Eastern time. The game will be played at the Rays' home park and broadcast on Fox, Fox Deportes, and fubo. If the series continues, Game 5 will take place on Wednesday, October 28, also at 8 p.m. Eastern time in Tampa Bay.
Games 6 and 7, if necessary, are set for the weekend. Game 6 will occur on Friday, October 30, in Milwaukee. Game 7 is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, also in Milwaukee. Both games start at 8 p.m. Eastern time and will air on Fox, Fox Deportes, and fubo. The Rays need to win the next four games to avoid elimination.
The path to the finals involved intense series for both teams. The Rays won the ALCS in six games against Cleveland. The Brewers closed out the NLCS in four games against Los Angeles. The series remains active as both teams prepare for the next matchup in Tampa Bay.
