Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey seeks a second term against Republican Mike Minogue in Tuesday's election. The race also features independent candidate Andrea James.

Healey was scheduled to vote at Hardy Elementary School in Arlington on Tuesday morning. Minogue cast his ballot during the early voting period.

Polls show Healey holding a wide lead over Minogue. The challenger is a U.S. Army veteran and former CEO of medical device company Abiomed. He spent millions of his personal fortune on the campaign.

Healey linked Minogue to President Donald Trump during the campaign. The connection stemmed from Minogue's fundraising for the president in 2024.

Minogue criticized Healey for the state's affordability crisis during two TV debates. The candidates also clashed over proposals to suspend a law and an endorsement from the Massachusetts State Police union. Minogue claimed the union supported Healey for a better contract. Healey called that a lie and distanced the union from Minogue. Minogue later said his concerns were with Healey, not the troopers.

Minogue ran on a joint ticket with New Bedford City Councilor Oliver for lieutenant governor. Oliver suspended his campaign in October after being charged on Oct. 17. Minogue stated that Oliver would not serve as lieutenant governor if elected. Healey became the first woman to hold the governorship in Massachusetts in 2022. She previously served as state attorney general for two terms.
